Frequently asked questions
Can you write for my business from afar?
I sure can. My key copywriting markets are Australia, the UK, the USA and Europe, but I can write for businesses all over the world. I begin my copywriting process with a detailed questionnaire to make sure I really understand what your company is all about. While this may sound tedious, it's worth the effort to ensure we find the right words to keep selling your business well into the future. This also helps me dig out the best aspects of your organisation so I can get them onto the page in a way that appeals to your audience.
I will also arrange a Zoom chat or phone call before we get started to introduce myself and go over project details, and I won’t hesitate to pick up the phone if I need clarification as we go along. (I promise I won’t call at an ungodly hour if you happen to be based in another part of the world.)
I also understand the travel industry is visual, so may ask you to send photos, menus, videos and the like to help me ‘see’ what you offer. Technology makes sharing this information a piece of cake.
After initial discussions, most of our communication can be done via email.
For larger or big-budget projects, personal visits can be discussed.
How much do you charge?
This is a ‘how long is a piece of string’ question. Project rates vary depending on the type and volume of writing required, and I’d rather let you mix and match my services so you only pay for what you need rather than lock you into a package deal. Furthermore, I offer discounts for blog post bundles and ongoing projects, so it’s best to contact me for a quote.
You should know, however, that I always provide a fixed project fee up front and will give you a heads up about any extra costs if the brief changes. I then include two rounds of free revisions on any written material, unless otherwise specified.
The rates I offer are reasonable, but I also quote on quality. I value your time and money so strive to present well-written copy that meets your brief off the bat. That means you won’t waste precious dollars and hours going back and forth with amendments, or worse, realising you have to hire someone else to fix a copywriting disaster (typically, you get what you pay for).
Will I need to pay a deposit?
Yes, I ask that you meet me halfway with a 50% deposit before I start work on your project.
Do you do all the writing?
I don’t contract out any of my writing, so yes, I will personally handle your project from start to finish.
